Thursday June 15, 2017 Broyles Field: Chaparral was the home team vs. Johnson City Press in Babe Ruth action tonight. Chaparral scored the first run in the bottom of the first. A 2 RBI double from Jacob Cross put Chaparral up 4 to 1 before the end of the 3rd inning. 4 innings of pitching from Caleb Hodges and defense from all surrounding players squeaked the Press out of a couple of jams. Hitting 2 for 3 on the night for the Paperboys was Joseph Kent. The Press scored a little in later innings to come out on top 8 to 4. Just a few regular season games to go and the tournament begins!

Friday June 9, 2017 Roller Field: The Johnson City Press Paperboys hosted Chaparral this evening. Chaparral scored two runs in the 1st. The Press answered in the bottom of the 2nd with two runs to tie. Key hits from Riley Cobin and Andrew Jones in mid innings left the Paperboys with the lead thru 5 innings. A two run RBI from Jeremiah Hise in the top of 6 helped close the gap for Chaparral. Down 3 going into the last inning Chaparral closed the gap to 6-7 with the bases loaded and no outs.  A timely 1-2-3 double play (Kent, Zuehlke, Giturwa) and a strikeout finished the game. Great game guys!

Tuesday May 9, 2017 Roller Field:  The 8pm match up between the East Tennessee Rental Bobcats at Johnson City Press Paperboys tonight started with a quick 4 runs by the Bobcats in the 1st inning. The Paperboys evened the score in the bottom of the second inning following a key hit by shortstop Jacob Miller. The Bobcats earned a run back in the 5th inning following a double to right, a walk and a base hit to bring in the run. The game entered the 6th inning with the Paperboys leading 7 to 5. The Bobcats fought to 6 and the side was retired completing the game.
